Mosquitoes! They are absolutely deadly, and we all know that I mean that literally! Read on to find out my solution to sending Junior safely away to school, away from mosquitoes.
Junior had dengue the year before last and it was the worst period of my life. Since he got better, I have been absolutely paranoid (ahem!) about making sure that mosquitoes don’t get him. I’ve tried just about everything out there. There are mosquito coils (why do they call them that?!) outside the house, I don’t allow them inside the house. Electrical mosquito repellent diffusers are switched on 24 hours around the house and I have citronella oil or lemongrass oil burning whenever Junior is around! Paranoid much! 🙂 I think my paranoia is justified.
As long as he is at home or I’m around, I pretty much keep an eye on him. What scares me is when I’m not around! Like I said, I’ve just about tried everything in the market from anti-mosquito patches to many commercially available repellents.
What really worked for me or rather on Junior, is the Spa Ceylon Citronella Milk Protective Mist. Why do I like it? Well for starters it works!! It’s about 2 months since I’ve started to use it and I’m yet to see that it doesn’t work. I started off with first applying it myself to test it and then did a patch test on Junior. I now use it every day before he goes off to school and the smell pretty much lasts till he comes home.
What really got me sold on the Spa Ceylon Citronella Milk Protective Mist was when applying it, it obviously gets on my hands, I started to notice that several hours and many dettol-handwashes after, the smell distinctive of lemongrass remains on my palms. If that’s not reason enough, I don’t know what is!
I’m no aromatherapist, but after a lot of research, I do have a tiny understanding of what different essential oils are good for. The base used for Spa Ceylon Citronella Milk Protective Mist is coconut oil, which is an extremely good and safe base oil – doing a good share of moisturizing and is usually safe on infants. This beautifully fragrant repellent uses oils such as citronella, lemongrass, and eucalyptus which have a host of benefits not only including warding of mosquitoes and other insects but is also antiviral, antiviral and antibacterial which is absolutely god-sent really to apply on a school going kid. It also contains lavender essential oils and Natural Vitamin E!
I can go on about its pleasing fragrance, but really that’s not what it’s all about! Spa Ceylon Citronella Milk Protective Mist does what it claims to do and that’s what makes it the best I’ve used so far. It’s always in Junior’s swim bag and one in my ever-growing handbag!
