Morning sickness… How does your first and second pregnancy compare?

Very different. With my first pregnancy I had severe morning sickness. So much so that I had to be hospitalized for a few days too as I could not even drink water without bringing it out. But this time I had no issues at all.

Do you think there’s a suitable age gap between siblings?

Yes but initially we were not planning to have another baby. But when Aryan was about 14 months we thought it would be nice to have another baby and by the next month we were blessed. So the gap between them would be exactly 2 years or a few weeks short of 2 years. We feel that it will be great as they will grow up helping each other along the way…

How are you preparing your son on the arrival of new one?

Well he can’t understand that there will be another baby very soon. But we tell him that there is a little baby in my tummy and to gives kisses to my tummy and he does. Also he helps his dad every night to apply the stretch mark oil on my tummy.

Are you finding if you are having a girl or boy?

We already know – we will be blessed with a baby girl. We are just thrilled and excited as now it will be just perfect and this is truly a dream come true for us. Actually, when I was pregnant for the first time I had a feeling of what the baby would be and this time too I had a feeling and I was right.

What are your pregnancy essentials?

I would say that my husband’s support and of course his love and patience. He is simply the best and been my strength. We share our chores and that way we get some “my” time plus get quality time as a family and a couple.

During your first pregnancy, was there anything you wished you knew earlier about?

Not really. I read a few books plus I registered on line with baby center which has answers to almost everything. We were quite prepared with everything.

What do you do to relax?

Watch movies and shop on line.

How are you keeping yourself fit during your pregnancy?

Well Aryan keeps me busy and on my toes as he is a little explorer. That is the best work out I get and I truly enjoy it.

What do you think is the best way to dress the bump?

I like to show my bump as I feel that this is the only time we don’t have to feel conscious of the growing tummy. I can still fit into most of my clothes but of course the tummy area is a tight fit. This way I could still stick to my own style as I don’t really like to wear maternity clothes.

Any weird cravings?

I have been craving for sweets especially for eclairs from Green cabin.

What is your take on breast-feeding?

I feel it is very personal as some mothers are not able to breast feed for various reasons. Choosing to-or-not to breast feed could be for medical reasons to a personal choice. There are pro’s and con’s to giving formula. However, I personally like to give breast milk as much as possible but if for any reason I am needed to combine formula & breast milk or only give formula, I know I would not stress out about it.

Any tips on flying with your little one and the bump?

We traveled quite a bit. Again having my husband around has been so helpful as Aryan is close to him too and does not want only me. Apart from that I would say not to have too much hand luggage and to have only the essentials. Also we try keep to his routine even on board and it helps.

Are there any new things that you need to buy for the new one?

Actually not much as I had got so much stuff for Aryan which I can use for this baby too. I only need to get clothes, shoes and some feeding bottles as I gave away most of Aryan’s bottles as we were not planning to have another baby.

Did you feel like it was important to get back to your original size before you got pregnant for the second time?

I had gone back to my pre pregnancy weight without any effort by the time Aryan was 6 months. It felt good to know that it was not much of a task to lose the extra pounds I gained during the first pregnancy. But I had just started working out when we decided to have another baby. So I have stopped for now and will start if and when time permits after the new baby.

How did you get back to shape after your first pregnancy?

Didn’t do anything in particular at all. But my husband and I did all the work as we did not want a stranger taking care of our baby. So maybe that helped as it is quite a bit of work.

Is there anything that you are planning to do specifically different in raising the second one?

Aryan has been a “dream” baby. He has been trouble free and we were so relaxed and didn’t have sleepless, stressful nights or days. Mainly because we got him on a routine from the time we got home from hospital. I feel that having him on a routine has helped us and especially for him up to date. Well, we were not very fixed and obsessed with the routine. We would go with the flow over the weekends and whenever we were out of home. So I plan to try and do the same thing with the new baby as things have worked out well for us.
